Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur, the heart of the country has a high number of red-light districts and street prostitution, despite them being illegal. A veteran Malaysian actor, however, believes that brothels are a necessity in Malaysia.
In the TikTok post of the podcast @suhanchannelofficial, the 57-year old actor, Rosyam Nor highlighted the number of foreign workers that we currently have, which is nearing 3 million, and most of them are men. With the men being far, far from home where their wives reside, Rosyam said it’s only natural for men with needs to “satisfy their urges”.
And what better (legal) way for foreigners to do so?
“It’s in every man’s nature to have urges, and to satisfy them. Prostitution and brothels are necessary for foreign men who came to Malaysia to work.”
In the podcast titled Hitam Putih Kehidupan (Black & White of Life), Rosyam added that this is also 1 of the ways to reduce sexual harassment cases involving foreigners.
“What if they target our kids, wives?”
The actor also took the opportunity to highlight his concern – the possibility of the foreigners targeting local, innocent women.
“It’s not impossible for them to target our kids, our wives before doing something bad to them.”
Rosyam claimed that the existence of brothels in Malaysia would at least allow foreigners to pay to satisfy their urges, adding that many of them spend their nights by doing almost the same thing – watching pornography.
At the end of the clip, Rosyam said that it was merely his opinion, in which he might be wrong.
“I’m not sure about others.”
