The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has captured the dog that attacked a 6-year-old child in Batu 9, Cheras, Selangor, and sent officers to conduct an investigation at the premises of the dog’s owner.
According to a statement by MPKj, the dog is believed to have injured the child and was captured by a team from the MPKj Stray Dog Capture Unit yesterday (September 3), while the investigation was launched today (September 4).

“The dog was taken to the MPKj animal detention centre to be isolated and detained until the investigation into the case is completed. MPKj will also obtain technical advice from the Hulu Langat District Veterinary Services Department for further action,” they explained.
MPKj also urged dog owners not to let their pets out of their premises without supervision.
“For owners who no longer intend to keep their dogs, they can hand over their animals to a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Owners can also contact MPKj if they require further information,” they added.
What happened

Based on a report by Kosmo!, a 6-year-old boy was rushed to a hospital after being attacked and bitten by a dog while playing on his bicycle in a housing area in Batu 9, Cheras, yesterday (September 3) at 6:30 PM.
The victim suffered head injuries and is now in stable condition at Kajang Hospital’s Children’s Ward.
A video of the incident has since gone viral online.
