One problem that some Malaysians seem to still have is littering.

Ajik™ (@haziqzolkiflee) recently took to his Twitter account to showcase a little monkey who picked up a face mask off of the street and attempted to wear it.

He wrote, “Even monkeys are smart enough to wear masks, people having meetings won’t even wear masks.”

While the monkey looked adorable with the mask covering its entire face and served as a stark reminder to all of us that we should wear our face masks in public, it’s still distressing to know that the face mask was just lying on the ground, where animals could get to it.

Many netizens shared this sentiment.

This comment goes, “I’m scared. That mask is so dirty. Please don’t throw face masks everywhere.”

monkey 5

This comment reads, “Pity that monkey wearing and eating the dirty things we throw, it’s dangerous as it can get infected, does no one feel pitiful for these animals? The moral of the story, don’t throw rubbish everywhere!

Hence, this is a reminder, not only for us to wear our face masks, courtesy of the adorable monkey, but also to dispose of our face mask properly once we’re done using it.

You can watch the adorable yet saddening video here.
