If my counting is right, our house arrest is suppose to end in approximately 6 days’ time.
Well, at least those numbers could be true for optimists. Unfortunately, in the real world, we have yet to win the war against Covid-19, and thus, could be spending some more time at home than we would have hoped. All for our own good!
According to a report by Astro Awani, there has been no guarantee given by our Health Ministry on whether the MCO will be lifted on the 28th April, or whether it will move to MCO phase 4. Nevertheless, Malaysia’s Health DG, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah noted that even if the MCO is lifted, social distancing practices will still have to continue.
“There isn’t a confirmation yet as to whether the MCO will be extended. What we do have confirmation on, is that we need to avoid all large gatherings. For example, we have university students that intend to go home. We have to make sure that there is no crowding happening at stations, etc. That’s what’s important. We also have to ensure, to practice social distancing among each other. Besides constantly washing our hands”, he said.
He also added that for the time being, the ministry is still viewing daily data on Covid-19 and has yet to make a decision on whether the MCO will continue or draw to a close.
Don’t know about you, but it sounds more like former than the latter to me. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
