The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced that special permission for students, teachers, and other members of the implementing group in all its educational institutions to wear sports attire will continue.

Its Minister, Fadhlina Sidek said that there is no set time frame for the permission as of yet and it will continue as hot weather persists.

As reported by BERNAMA, Fadhlina elaborated that the special permission depends on weather conditions and is implemented to avoid any health complications at educational institutions.

The directive was implemented amidst most of the country suffering from hot weather and cases of heat strokes as well as heat-related health complications being recorded.

On May 3, MOE issued the special permission to students, teachers and members of the implementing group in all its educational institutions to wear appropriate sports attire during the current hot weather to avoid any health complications.

In relation to the matter, the Education Minister asserted, “MOE does not make decisions on its own. We are assisted by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change, who constantly monitor the weather and temperature to ensure that we can continue our activities with students.”

She further added that the step is also to ensure that unwanted incidents can be prevented.
