Just yesterday, a daring daylight robbery unfolded in front of Alliance bank in Section 25, Shah Alam at 2.30pm. However, they’ve made a huge mistake by bringing knife (and an axe) to a gun fight.
According to Sinchew, the robbers arrived at the bank on a motorcycle armed with an axe and a parang. Although the Muslims had just finished their Friday prayers and were coming out from the mosque opposite of the bank, the crowd didn’t deter the robbers from committing the crime.
When a 58-year-old businessman bearing the title of Dato stepped out of the bank, the robbers sprang into action and robbed the Dato’s purse which contained RM200k.
“Although the businessman was accompanied with his bodyguard, the robbers didn’t seemed to care and carried on with their plan.
“As such, the bodyguard fired at the robbers and hit one of the robbers’ left thigh. The purse was successfully recovered while another robber managed to escape,” Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Shafien Mamat said.
He also revealed that the bodyguard and the businessman were injured and are now receiving medical attention in a hospital.
“According to the witness, the robber who fled the scene was believed to have been injured as well,” he added.
This goes to show that crime does not pay, and frankly the robbers had it coming.
