A man was seriously injured after his own brother slashed him during a fight at a house in Ayer Tawar, Perak, on Friday.
In the incident at about 1:30 PM on Friday (7 November), the 56-year-old victim was reported to have suffered head injuries and is currently receiving treatment at Seri Manjung Hospital.

Manjung District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hasbullah Abd Rahman, said that the police received an emergency call from the public about the incident, informing them about a fight between the two brothers in a house.
In an official statement by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in Manjung, the police said the suspect was arrested shortly after the report was made.
A machete believed to have been used to slash the victim was also seized.

The victim lived in the same house as the suspect and his family. The fight was believed to have started when the suspect was unhappy with his brother’s action of kicking the bathroom door while his daughter was still inside.
“The suspect then attacked the victim with a machete, causing serious head injuries.”

Hasbullah said the suspect is now being detained to assist in the investigation, and the case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for causing serious injury with a weapon.
In another report by Kosmo!, PDRM also said that the suspect tested negative for drugs, and does not carry any previous criminal record or have any mental health issues.
He is currently in a 6-day remand to assist with the investigation.
