In this day and age, even walking down the streets in public is no longer safe because anyone can get attacked by random strangers who might be a little out of their mind.
Just yesterday (28th May) in Tokyo, Japan, a group of school girls was faced with horror as a Japanese man came charging at them with knives while they were waiting for the bus early in the morning at 7.45am.
According to ODN News, the unidentified middle-aged man, believed to be in his 50s, was allegedly carrying two knives when he ran through the crowd at the bus stop and began stabbing them. Two were killed and at least 17 others were injured in the attack.
The victims were students between ages six and 12 from a local private Catholic school.
One of the victims who died as a result of the attack was an 11-year-old student while the other was an adult, identified as Satoshi Oyama. The 39-year-old was a Japanese Foreign Ministry official whose daughter attended the private school.
However, the gruesome attack didn’t stop there as a woman in her 40s and three other young girls were brutally injured and taken to the hospital.
After carrying out the horrifying attacks, the attacker decided to take his own life. He reportedly stepped several metres away from the crowd and stabbed himself in the neck. It is still unknown why this man decided to commit such a crime, but the Japanese police are currently conducting investigations into the matter.
Remember to be safe and alert wherever you go! You can never be too careful.
