A few days ago, a girl took to Facebook to share her terrifying story on how she had to flee for her life as 8 Mat Rempits attacked her and her boyfriend, leaving their car damaged (which you can read here). The girl, San San shared how the Mat Rempits were relentless on letting them escape and even chased them throughout the LDP highway.
Their attack were pretty evident as San San shared picture evidences of their attack which resulted in their car being damaged.
However, Malaysian Criminal analysts Kamal Affandi Hashim mentions it’s unfair that only one side (the couple) has reported to the police.
“In my opinion, we should also listen to the explanation of the group of motorcycle riders involved in the incident. If they are not at fault, they should be brave and come forward.
“We must know the story before the incident and only the group of motorcycle riders know, and surely there must be a reason,” he told Bernama.
Kamal Affandi said the victims shouldn’t have posted their story on social media but lodge a police report and wait for further notice as ‘it could affect the police investigation’.
“Why viral it on the social media? Will this help us get compensation? What is best is to lodge a police report within 24 hours after the incident,”
Though, we just wanted to point out this line from San San’s post:
“After 10 minutes, the police reached, but they didn’t do anything, only asked about the incident, then headed off. In fact, the security and the kind person was the one who waited by our side till the tow truck came.”
He also states that motorcyclists should not be labelled as ‘mat rempit’ despite moving in a group and causing havoc.
