A Malaysian housewife is sharing how grateful she is to have neighbours who treat her like family when she is facing hardships, despite being of different races.
Taking to her Threads account, Sulaiman Waniey explained how her Indian neighbours had recently taken care of her after she had burned her hand and leg while in the kitchen, while her husband was at work. At that time, her Indian neighbour had also gone to work, while their parents were at home.

She wrote, “Yesterday, there was an incident I will never forget. While I was busy in the kitchen, hot water spilt onto my hand and leg. I was immediately burned. Only Allah knows how painful it was. I shouted loudly because of the immense pain.”
“Maybe my next-door neighbour heard (my shouts), as they immediately ran into my house. They know that only my kids and I were at home. After I told them what happened, (the mum) immediately passed my 3-month-old baby to her husband to care for. I was accompanied by my 5-year-old child, and she immediately took me to a clinic.”
While at the clinic, the neighbour not only treated her child to a drink while they waited, but she also paid the medical bill.
“It felt like my own family was helping me, though we don’t even share the same blood.”
Nothing to worry about
When they returned from the clinic, it was 1 PM, the children would be returning home from school. Sulaiman Waniey felt concerned that she wouldn’t have enough time to cook lunch, but it turned out that she didn’t have to worry at all, as the neighbour’s husband was handling that for her.

“He had cooked lunch at my house. He used the ingredients in my fridge and my kitchen. After asking for permission, he told me to rest and that he would handle everything,”
“Allahu, at that point, my tears started to flow. How lucky I am to be blessed with such good neighbours who are sincere in helping regardless of race and religion.”
She ended her post by sharing how much good neighbours are a blessing.
“They are not just neighbours, they are family without blood ties.”
