Recently, Malaysian badminton legend Datuk Lee Chong Wei announced his retirement from the sport after 19 years of blood, sweat, and tears after his battle with cancer.

He received global praise from former players and fans alike as they thanked him for his contribution to badminton.
Lining up to send a message to our beloved champion was none other than Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The 1-minute 58-second video that was shared on both Facebook and Twitter was simply titled āFor Lee Chong Weiā, and featured both Tun Mahathir and Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali sending their love for the badminton superstar.

Posting his video via @chedetofficial, Tun Mahathir said: “I am touched and sad that our champion (Datuk) Lee Chong Wei has decided to call it a day on his career. I hope that he gets his much-needed rest and recovers from his illness.”

After ending his message for Chong Wei, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah had something to say as well.

In her message, she also mentions that Chong Wei has made the right decision as his wife and son will be there for him.
