The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has seized luxury assets worth more than RM2.2 million following a search at the residence of the second wife of a former Malaysian Army Chief (PTD) in an East coast state on Saturday (10 January).
According to a source, the search uncovered two suitcases believed to have been used to store the items.

“Inspections led to the discovery of 23 Rolex watches of various models, with an estimated current market value of approximately RM2 million,” the source said.
The source added that MACC also seized several pieces of jewellery belonging to an individual believed to be an accomplice, with an estimated value of about RM225,000.
Meanwhile, MACC Senior Director of the Investigation Division, Datuk Zainul Darus, when contacted, confirmed the matter.
Part of corruption case involving the army
Previously, the media reported that the former PTD, who is being investigated in a corruption case involving Malaysian Army procurement tenders, was remanded for seven days starting 8 January to assist in the investigation.

In addition, one of his wives who was also detained by MACC has been remanded for six days, while another wife was remanded for three days.
On Friday, media reports stated that MACC had seized cash, high-performance sport utility vehicles (SUVs), and gold worth approximately RM6.9 million in connection with the case.
Sources reported that the seized cash included amounts in United States Dollars (USD), Euros, Pounds Sterling, Japanese Yen, and Saudi Riyals.
The case is being investigated under Section 16(b) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.
