According to the New Straits Times, this operation will involve trains from Gombak headed towards Putra Heights turning back at the Ara Damansara station between 7am and 9am daily from Monday to Friday. Rapid Rail chief operating officer Khairani Mohamed was quoted as saying,

“Using the double loop, every third train from Gombak will turn around at Ara Damansara with a total of seven trains during the period. Passengers heading to Putra Heights will have to disembark at the Ara Damansara station and wait for the next train.”

In a report by The Star, the Rapid Rail chief also stated that this operation would hopefully reduce the waiting times, as train intervals would be 90 seconds instead of the current 180 seconds.

This new operation is also being implemented in anticipation of the RM100 unlimited monthly travel pass which is set to be made available for purchase at midnight on 1st January 2019.

Apart from that, RapidKL also took to their official Facebook page to announce the extensions of their services in anticipation of tonight’s New Year’s celebrations.
