One of the most popular Ministers in the current Unity Government’s Cabinet has got to be Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook, thanks in part to the various initiatives his ministry has introduced that benefited the people.
Furthermore, many also praised the no-nonsense approach he has when conducting himself in public; no controversy, no playing politics, just focusing on doing work.
Recently, Loke took to his official Facebook account to encourage eligible Malaysians to go out and vote for the State Elections this upcoming 12 August.
In the post, Loke, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Seremban shared a throwback photo of himself at the ballots some 19 years ago, with the caption,
“Once upon a time… in 2004! Let’s together go out and vote this 12 August! Vote for Unity!”
The simple Facebook post has since gone viral, garnering over 6,200 reactions and more than 380 comments as of the time of writing, with many amazed at how different Loke looked back then.
For reference, Loke is currently 46 and the photo was taken when he was 27 years old. Furthermore, the photo was taken when he cast his ballot in the 2004 General Election and was contesting for the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) in the N11 Lobak seat.
That was also the first time Loke contested in an election and won the seat by a 1,842 majority.
In the comments, many gushed over the Transport Minister’s looks back then, with some commenting on how handsome he was back then and others saying he looks like an actor in a Stephen Chow production.
One commenter jokingly said that Loke must’ve shared this throwback photo with the intention of saying, “I also used to be slim’. Meanwhile, another commenter said that his face still looks the same but the body has ‘upgraded’ a lot.
Another commenter cleverly used driving licences, which are under the purview of Loke’s ministry to make a pun at his changed appearance, saying that the Transport Minister has upgraded from a B2 motorcycle license to a B Full license.
