Sometimes, misleading captions may lead to more misunderstandings, despite it being meant as a joke.
Recently, local celebrity Baby Shima posted a video on her TikTok account that shows her posing and taking pictures with a dog outside a hotel. The caption in the video indicates that she’s bringing the dog out for a walk instead of having a ‘bodyguard’ by her side.
In the comments section, the 29-years old celebrity revealed that she’s currently in Manila, Philippines and in the video, she can be seen touching the dog’s leash and not the animal itself.
Baby Shima jokingly told the people via the caption of the post,
“If you disturb me, Baby Sugar (the dog) will bite you!”
A space for defamation
The video was posted yesterday (July 5) and it has since gained more than 1.7 million views. Malaysians have also taken the opportunity to express their dissatisfaction with the content, and some even blamed her for the ‘need’ to get criticisms with the misleading caption.
“You shouldn’t have created a space for people to defame you.”
“She just wants people to talk about her, even at the cost of making herself look stupid.”
“Does she not want to live peacefully? She’s hungry for criticisms.”
“It’s not Baby Shima if it’s not controversial. What’s up with the kid-like attire?”
This isn’t the first time Baby Shima has posted a video of herself with dogs. Recently, she posted another video on her TikTok account that shows her feeding some stray dogs. The video garnered a lot of praise from Malaysians who adored her kindness towards the hungry animal.
In this case, do you think Baby Shima could’ve come up with a better caption for the video?
