Hotdog buns are a staple snack that we can find in bakeries, convenience stores, supermarkets and basically in most places. It’s easy to eat and delicious at the same time, just imagine biting into the soft bun encasing the juicy hotdog inside!
However, a Facebook page recently posted a video of a hotdog bun that disgusted its viewers. That’s because when the user pulled apart the bread, it was discovered that there were maggots on the hotdog itself. And they were alive!

You can literally see the maggots crawling on the hotdog and they were all over it. Based on the post, the user allegedly bought the hotdog bun from Tesco Bukit Indah, and warns other consumers to be careful when eating hotdog buns.
It is unclear whether the item is past it’s expiry date or freshly bought, but it definitely doesn’t look appetising!
There were people who commented that it may be fake but regardless, it serves as a reminder to us that we should always check our food before eating so that there are no “hidden surprises” lurking inside.
One of the commenters also shared her previous experience where she bought a hotdog bun from another supermarket chain in Malaysia, but the hotdog turned moldy three days before its expiry date. Luckily she managed to discover this before her child could take a bite, as the hotdog fell out of the bun.
Many of the other Facebook users tagged their friends who love to eat hotdog buns and told them examine their buns before consuming them so that they won’t accidentally eat a wriggling maggot.
It’s not only hotdog buns that we should check, in fact it’s important to take a good look at your food before you eat it!
