Malaysian artist and activist, Fahmi Reza, was recently told that he was barred from leaving the country just 10 minutes before boarding his flight. Despite the response from the government and PDRM, Fahmi is not satisfied.
He plans to take legal action against the government & authorities
During Raya Haji, Fahmi was scheduled to fly to Singapore, only to be stopped by the Immigration officers at the international departure at KLIA2 before he was told that Bukit Aman (PDRM Headquarters) has banned him from leaving the country.

Following the circulation of the matter, the Prime Minister has directed PDRM to investigate the issue, to which the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) said the travel ban at the airport was wrongly issued to Fahmi.
“No official travel ban has been issued on Fahmi Reza,” IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Hussain said.
Just last night (June 8), Fahmi penned an official letter to the authorities and the government, saying that he does not accept PMX and PDRM’s explanation, adding that what he saw was merely “Those responsible evading responsibilities.”
“I’ll see you in court, let’s dance”
In his letter, which was shared on his Facebook page, Fahmi said he has yet to see anyone from the government taking full responsibility for the mistakes that cost him his freedom, money, and time.
“It was easy for you to say ‘no official travel ban’. In reality, I was banned from travelling. I couldn’t leave the country, and I was denied my right as a citizen.”
“You are always quick to bring citizens to court when they make mistakes. Now, it’s time for the people to drag the authorities to court.”
Fahmi also highlighted that after being reminded to “always use the right channel” to do things, he is going to bring the matter to court this time, saying that the people shouldn’t be afraid of the government, but the government should be afraid of the people.
“F**k fear, let’s dance. I’ll see you in court. The government and the authorities are not immune to the laws.”

In May, Fahmi was told to turn back to KL after he had landed in Sabah. No official reasons were given, but earlier, Fahmi shared a controversial drawing involving the 11th Yang DiPertua Sabah, Tan Sri Musa Aman.

Fahmi is known for his controversial drawings, which involved many politicians in the country.
