It’s no secret that crocodiles in Malaysia tend to end up in places they’re not supposed to, such as residential areas! And now, it appears that yet another crocodile has been spotted near areas of human activity.
The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) took to their Facebook page to share a public service announcement (PSA) about a crocodile spotted at Taman Tasik Seksyen 7 in Shah Alam, where residents of the area tend to exercise and bring their children for walks and playtime.
They wrote, “Attention. This is regarding a posting on Facebook about the appearance of a crocodile in Tasik Shah Alam, Seksyen 7. The Shah Alam City Council, through the Environmental Health Department and PERHILITAN, is aware of this matter and is taking further action.”
“The public is asked to be careful when enjoying recreational activities at Tasik Shah Alam, Seksyen 7.”
Before this, images of the crocodile were shared in the Shah Alam Resident Facebook group, as showcased by Lobak Merah. In the pictures shared, a large crocodile could be seen hanging out by the side of the lake.
What do you think the authorities should do to prevent crocodiles from wandering closer to residential areas and cities?
