Just last night (7 November), more than 60 houses were damaged in Kuantan, Pahang, with 13 incidents of fallen trees also reported around the city following a storm.
According to BERNAMA, Kuantan Civil Defence Force (APM) officer, Major Zahidi Zainudin, said the storm, which occurred around 7:30 PM, affected Taman Tanah Putih, Bukit Setongkol, and Taman Cenderawasih.

“As of 10 PM today, a total of 40 reports of house damage were received in Taman Tanah Putih, while another 20 were reported in Bukit Setongkol and Taman Cenderawasih,” he said.

“The actual number of affected premises and the estimated losses are still being assessed,” he added.
Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, Zahidi said they also received 13 reports of fallen trees, including one incident where a house on Jalan Bukit Bayroute was damaged after being struck by a tree.

“Fallen trees were also reported in Bukit Setongkol, Taman Cenderawasih, and Jalan Tanah Putih, causing several main roads to be blocked,” he said.
He added that APM, together with the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), has taken action to cut and clear fallen trees at the affected locations.
