Malaysians are truly the salt of the earth when it comes to being selfless when others are in need.

Case in point, a pau vendor decided to randomly show up at a flood relief tent to hand out complimentary paus to the victims in the area.

Kuan Chee Heng, better known as Uncle Kentang, shared in the incident in a touching Facebook post.

Pau 1

He wrote, “The great pau seller, Malaysia is truly crazy. He suddenly brought his pau van and parked it next to the flood relief tents. He said to call everyone over and eat paus for free. Uncle, you made me cry la. One van full of paus he shared with those who are hungry.”

And anyone in such a situation as those stuck in the floods would truly appreciate a nice, hot pau during the cold, rainy night.

In honour of his noble actions, Uncle Kentang even gave the man a special nickname.

This is Malaysia. I don’t know his name, when I asked he just smiled and didn’t tell me. So, I named him ‘Uncle Senyum Pau’ (Smiling Pau Uncle).”

This is the Malaysia that is great and brave. Living in Malaysia is the best. We are united, those who want to scream racism, we will let them drift“, he added.

During these trying times, it is the people who are truly stepping up to assist however they can as it is impossible for them to sit by and watch while their fellow Malaysians suffer.

Kudos, Uncle Senyum Pau!
