A couple of weeks back, a boutique owner in Kelantan was fined for wearing shorts at her own workplace. The fine was paid a few days later, however, many Malaysians can’t help but think – how much do they really have to follow even when they’re not bound by certain rules?
Kedah MB, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said that as long as rules are followed in PAS-led states, everyone can live happily and they can do whatever they want. The matter arose when Sanusi appeared as a guest in KJ’s podcast, Keluar Sekejap where they both spoke about the Kelantanese businesswoman who was fined for wearing shorts.
“It was like she didn’t wear any pants”
Sanusi said that the City Council in Kelantan was right to issue a summon to the businesswoman because her pant was too excessively short as if she was not wearing anything from below the waist.
“But no one said anything about it. She only put on long pants after she was fined.”
Sanusi added that in this matter, everyone should always listen to both sides of the story – the businesswoman, and the City Council officer. This is to get the full picture of what really happened on that day, and he took the opportunity to tell KJ what he really feels about some other political parties.
“They’re really trying to incite fear to tarnish PAS’s reputation by labelling us the green movement.”
“It’s not fair for the Non-Muslims”
The former Health Minister, KJ told Sanusi that it makes sense for the Muslims to follow the rules that they’re bound to adhere, but it will not be fair to those who are not tied to the rules.
He also said that the matter happened to a non-Muslim, which prompted the public to worry about 1 thing.
“People are worried that PAS may implement extreme policies if the party takes power.”
