The world is once again facing the tragedy of a fallen K-pop idol. K-pop star from the boy band, Astro, has died at the age of 25.
Based on a report by BBC News, his record label made the saddening announcement.
The Korean authorities shared that he was found unresponsive by his manager at his apartment in Seoul on Wednesday night (April 19).
It is being considered that that he had taken his own life as the police believe he had “made an extreme decision” while they investigate the cause of his death. So far, there are no signs of foul play.
Fantagio, Moonbin’s label has since stated that he “unexpectedly left our world and become a star in the sky”.
Prior to joining the well-established K-pop group Astro in 2016, Moonbin had also dabbled in acting and modelling. He had also performed in a sub-group called Moonbin & Sanha.
Moonbin had joined Fantagio’s training program as a kid before eventually joining Astro. Fantagio has since asked fans to “refrain from speculative and malicious reports” so that his family can pay their respects and mourn in peace.
Rest in peace, Moonbin. You will be missed.
