There are plenty of things that unite us Malaysians, and one of them is watching a good, relatable video online, especially when it’s about family. Recently, Fernleaf released a 3-part video series that has Malaysians both cracking up and going “Aww!” The series celebrates the bond between generations and the spirit of Malaysia’s multiracial families. It’s a heartfelt look at the everyday chaos, humour, and warmth that make Malaysian families so special. Here’s a closer look at the three stories that everyone’s been talking about.

1. The family that sums up Malaysia’s spirit!

Nothing captures the beauty of Malaysian life quite like a family where two cultures come together. And if you’re part of one, you know just how fun (and funny) it can be. In this video, we meet Ayu, a Malay mum and housewife, and her Chinese husband as they raise their young son, Adam, under the watchful (and sometimes competing) eyes of both Ah ma and Nenek.

The video shows Adam completely absorbed in his iPad. Then comes the classic grandma showdown: Ah ma insists, “Homework first before play!” while Nenek argues, “Eat first before study!” The back-and-forth feels so real that it’s hard not to laugh.

But by the end of the video, it’s clear that while Ah Ma and Nenek may see things differently, their hearts are in the same place. Both just want what’s best for Adam. The chatter slowly turns into laughter as they share a smile, watching him enjoy a glass of Fernleaf Full Cream Milk.

2. A single mother who treats every child like her own!

Back in school, most of us were best friends with the van aunty or bus uncle. Before our parents even knew how our day went, they already had the full story. They weren’t just drivers; they were part of our everyday lives. And this video captures that familiar warmth.

Here, we meet Sridevi, or as everyone calls her, Bus Amma (even though she doesn’t actually drive a bus!). She’s the heart of her neighbourhood and the definition of everyday kindness. A single mother with the biggest heart, she not only picks kids up from school but also cares for them until their parents return from work.

Each afternoon, her home fills with laughter, chatter, and the sound of tiny feet running around. Regardless of race or background, every child is welcomed like her own. She listens to their stories, makes sure they’ve eaten, and ends the day with something simple yet comforting, a glass of Fernleaf Full Cream Milk. Bus Amma’s story is a gentle reminder that family isn’t just the one we’re born into, it’s also the people who care for us, guide us, and make sure we’re never left out.

3. When two generations collide!

Remember those after-school days that felt like a marathon? Co-curriculum at 2PM, Kumon at 4PM, Taekwondo at 7PM, our mums signed us up for everything!

That’s Angie now, a super dedicated mum who just wants the best for her daughter. Gymnastics, robotics, violin lessons, you name it, her little girl’s probably signed up for it. But then there’s grandma, calm, wise, and gently reminding her that it’s okay to slow down sometimes because kids need room to just be kids. It’s that classic push and pull between generations, one eager to give every opportunity, the other reminding us that a day off from time to time matters too.

But underneath it all, it’s just love showing up in two different ways. And in the end, both mum and grandma find common ground in something simple yet powerful — their shared trust in Fernleaf Full Cream Milk, keeping the little one strong and happy through it all.

After watching all three stories, you’ll notice one beautiful thing they all have in common: no matter the family, background, or generation, love always finds its way back to the table. And in the end, everyone agrees on one thing: a nourishing glass of Fernleaf Full Cream Milk.

Fernleaf: Love in every sip!

Each of these videos may tell a different story. Times may change, and every generation has its own way of doing things, from how we cook, learn, and raise our children, to how we show love and care. Yet through it all, one thing remains constant: the bond that ties families together. And Fernleaf milk is part of that bond.

Made with high-quality New Zealand milk, Fernleaf is a trusted companion that has nourished Malaysian families for generations!
