The verdict is in!
On the charges of corruption related to supplying and installing hybrid solar energy in 369 schools in Sarawak, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of disgraced former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has been found guilty of all 3 charges.
She has been sentenced to 10 years on each count, to be run concurrently, as well as a fine of RM970 million.
If she fails to pay the fine, she will have to serve an additional 10 years on each charge, to be run consecutively.
According to BFM, the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt.
This comes after Judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan rejected her request that he withdraw from the hearing at the Kuala Lumpur High Court today (September 1).
70-year-old Rosmah Mansor was facing 3 charges of corruption, involving a solar hybrid project worth RM1.25 billion. Through the project, she was found guilty of receiving RM194 million in bribes.
