The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is investigating former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob over alleged corruption and money laundering, as reported by BERNAMA.
Earlier today, MACC displayed around RM170 million in cash, along with 16kg of pure gold bars worth nearly RM7 million.

The seized cases contained multiple currencies
According to MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, MACC has seized cash and valuables from three locations, including a ‘safehouse,’ as reported by MYNEWSHUB.
He also revealed that the cash included various international currencies like Baht, Riyal, British Pound (GBP), Won, Euro, Swiss Franc, and Yuan.
He added that MACC is set to call former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob for questioning again this Wednesday (March 5).

31 witnesses have been called in for questioning
Azam also revealed that, so far, the MACC has recorded statements from 31 witnesses in its investigation into Ismail Sabri.
The investigation into the former prime minister was launched based on MACC intelligence and was not directed by any external parties.
A press conference was held to share more details on the high-profile case, which is still under investigation.
