Malaysia has recorded 142 new Covid-19 cases as of today (1 April). This brings the total number of cases in the country to 2,908, according to the Ministry of Health.
102 patients are currently in the intensive care unit including 66 who need breathing assistance.
The ministry also reported 108 new recoveries which marks the highest number of recoveries in a day. The total number of recoveries as of 12pm today (1 April) is 645 patients.

The ministry also reported two new deaths as of 12pm today (1 April) bringing the death toll to 45. The 44th death is an 80-year-old citizen who has a history of diabetes, hypertension and heart disease while the 45th death is a 62-year-old citizen who has a history of diabetes and hypertension and was in close contact with an infected person.
