Multiple rumours, efforts, and five months later, 22-years old Chia Min Yong is still missing today, despite allegations that claim she is among the job scam victims who are currently locked in a dorm in Myanmar.
In a press conference held by the Malaysia International Human Organisation, a mother, Chen, revealed that her son, who has been trapped in Myanmar reached out to her via e-mail to seek rescue. Her son did not only reveal what really goes on behind the scene at his “workplace”, but he also asked his mother for one more help – to bring Chia Min Yong home as well.
Min Yong wants to go home
According to her son, he has seen Min Yong in the dining hall of a dormitory in Myanmar, where she was crying alone. The dormitory is believed to be the base camp of the syndicate.
“My son told me that Min Yong was crying alone at a corner, and said she wanted leave the place and go home”, Chen said.
A couple of months back, another victim who managed to return home safely also revealed that he had seen the missing girl four times in Myanmar. Chen also revealed that her son has been seeing Min Yong at the dormitory since April this year. Her son, on the other hand, reached the “workplace” in Myanmar in March this year, just a few weeks before Min Yong’s arrival.
Yesterday (September 14), MHO and five families of the victims submitted a memorandum to the Myanmar Embassy.
Back in April, Chia Min Yong, who worked as an insurance broker told her mother that she was headed to Johor Bahru for a job offer. Min Yong brought her passport along, and that was the last time the family has ever seen their precious daughter.
We pray for the safety of ALL victims and sincerely hope they will return to their families in no time.
