Recently, we shared about the importance of the Independent Police Complaints Of Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) bill and how you can voice out your concern for it to be implemented.

In early May, the Human Rights organisation, Suara Rakyat Malaysia(SUARAM), expressed the urgency in police reformation after allegations of political inference were made.

SUARAM along with the IPCMC coalition have come together in setting up a petition to push for the bill to be tabled at the Parliament while continuing to fight for the bill to be passed.

MISI: Solidariti, a youth-led NGO, told WORLD OF BUZZ that in order to have any possible impact, the petition needs at least 40,000 signatures. At the time of writing, the petition has only garnered 24,635 signatures and counting. With your signature included, you could really make a difference in whether this bill gets passed.

Those who are interested and are hungry to make a change may sign the petition at this link.

MISI: Solidariti also urges everyone to send an email to their respective MPs to urge the tabling of the bill in the next Parliament session. If you’re unsure of what to say, don’t worry! The NGO attached a useful email template which you can find by heading on over to their Instagram.

Be the voice that makes a change! #IPCMCNOW
