The family of a 21-year-old male student who died after jumping from a KL condominium remains unaware of the reasons behind his tragic decision. However, it was revealed that he had sent heartfelt messages to his relatives, simply saying “I love you” before his passing.
The student, Kwok Jun Hao (transliteration), called his aunt, whom he affectionately referred to as “mother”, but she had no idea it would be their final conversation. According to her, they spoke about everyday matters, but she sensed something unusual when he ended the call by saying “I love you.”
She later realised it was the first time Jun Hao had initiated a call to her, as she was usually the one to reach out. Concerned, she tried calling him back, but he didn’t answer. Instead, he replied with a text message:
“I’m sorry. I love you, mum.”
Distressed, she responded:
“Son, please answer me. Don’t scare me.”

The aunt shared that Jun Hao typically spoke to her three times a week, and had recently agreed to work at a Singaporean company she had found for him. He was expected to start the job next June after graduating.
One hour before his death, Jun Hao reportedly called several family members including his grandparents and younger brother just to say “I love you.” He also sent a message to his younger brother, reminding him to take good care of their grandparents, reported Sin Chew.
“I’ve bought some new clothes for myself, but please wear them. Tell mum and grandparents that I’m sorry, and thank mum for treating me like her own son.”
“Please be obedient, listen to our grandparents, and don’t make them angry. I’ll be your family again in my next life. I love you.”
