Anthony Loke said the Democratic Action Party (DAP) will reflect on its defeat after losing all seats in the Sabah State Election (PRN) last night (29 November).
The PRN in Sabah saw Parti Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) win the majority with 29 seats, followed by Parti Warisan Sabah (WARISAN), which secured 25 seats. The results were announced by the Election Commission of Malaysia (SPR) this morning (30 November) in an official statement.

In his statement last night, Anthony, who is also the Secretary-General of DAP, said the party accepts and respects the voters’ verdict in the 17th Sabah state election, where it lost all eight seats it contested.
“We’ll put in efforts to win the people’s support again.”
Anthony, who also serves as Minister of Transport, said DAP congratulates the parties and candidates who received the mandate from voters, adding that the party’s top leadership will learn from this outcome.
“We will reassess all our weaknesses and strive to win back the people’s support in the next election.”

He also noted that Sabah DAP still has two representatives at the parliamentary level, and both MPs will double their efforts in Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan. As for Anthony, he said he will take responsibility for the defeat.
“As the party’s Secretary-General, I take full responsibility for DAP’s weaknesses and failure to secure any seats in this year’s Sabah state election.”
During a press conference, Election Commission (EC) Chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said that a total of 1,148,476 voters, or 64.35%, turned out to vote. The full results will be conveyed to Tan Sri Musa Aman, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, today.
