He claimed he went into the house to get a drink
It is understood that prior to the incident, the accused claimed he wanted to enter the house for a drink, then approached the victim, who was watching television. He then allegedly locked the door, which raised suspicions for the victim’s father.
The father immediately checked the CCTV footage on his phone and was shocked to witness the accused’s actions toward his daughter.
The charge was filed under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a sentence of up to 20 years in prison and whipping upon conviction.

He pleaded for a lower bail
Deputy Public Prosecutor Mohd Azfar Mahmud proposed bail at RM20,000 and requested additional conditions, including that the accused not contact any witnesses and report to the police station once a month until the case is concluded.
The accused, a father of five who was unrepresented, pleaded for a lower bail amount, stating that he works as a food stall assistant and is the sole provider for his children and elderly mother.
The court later set bail at RM9,000 and agreed to all additional conditions requested by the prosecution. The case is scheduled for mention on July 29.
