Husband & Wife Fined RM2,000 Each After They Were Caught Attempting To Travel Interstate

Recently, a married couple was compounded RM2,000 each for attempting to cross states without being fully vaccinated.

According to Astro AWANI, Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Superintendent Hussin Zamora said the couple was arrested after being checked at a roadblock in Inas, Jalan Kulai, Kota Tinggi.

“Yesterday we compounded a couple who was found crossing the state without being fully vaccinated. The couple is believed to have been traveling from Perak to Kulai using Jalan Inas. The value of the compound is RM2,000 each,” he said.

Hussin added that the couple was compounded under Regulation 17 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021.

He said such efforts will continue to be done through the operation of compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) around the district.

“We will continue to carry out operations and advice will always be given to the community in an effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic,” he said.
