Imagine this. You’re in a bus and you see a wallet that was left behind on one of the seats. You open it and it’s full of cash! What would you do?
One Malaysian man, who was in this exact situation, didn’t hesitate and did what he knew was right!
The Aku Budak Kluang Facebook page shared how the man had taken the effort to find the elderly Singaporean owner of a wallet that was left behind in a bus that was coming from Seremban to Kluang, Johor.
They wrote, “This uncle had lost his wallet when traveling to Kluang from Seremban by bus. In his wallet was SGD $1,000 (RM3,194.18) and several hundred Ringgit. As this young man is honest, he had contacted the bus company to find the uncle and return the wallet to the uncle himself.”
The uncle, who was very happy to receive his wallet, said, “Thank you very much to this kind, Malay brother.”
Netizens were very proud and pleased to hear of the young man’s actions.
“Respect, bro. May God bless you. Well done to your parents who educated you in the right way. May you become an example for others.”
“People who are honest like this are one in a million. Alhamdullilah.”
“Alhamdullilah, your parents would be proud! Thank you for being an honest human being.”
Based on a report by China Press, the uncle also offered the young man a red packet as a reward, to which the young man initially rejected it. But, after the elderly man insisted, saying it was to treat him to a meal, the young man then accepted it.
We’re so happy to see our fellow community members doing the right thing!
Kudos to the young man for his actions. We genuinely hope that more and more people see his actions as a lesson on what to do in similar situations.
