According to The Guardian, the pooch, who only has three functioning legs after being hit by a car, was seen sniffing and digging near a field in Ban Nong Kham village, in Cham Phuang district, Bangkok. The canine also began barking and this garnered the attention of farmers nearby.

Thanks to Ping Pong’s digging which exposed the infant’s legs, the farmers noticed the tiny legs sticking out from the earth and they immediately rushed the newborn to the hospital.

Once there, doctors cleaned him up and declared him healthy, BBC reported. Ping Pong’s owner, 41-year-old Usa Nisaikha said that the canine was a very good boy and that he has raised Ping Pong since birth. Despite his disability, he still chose to keep the dog. He told local media,

“The dog was digging up a dirt pile and the baby’s legs emerged.”

“Ping Pong was hit by a car, so he’s disabled. But I kept him because he’s so loyal and obedient, and always helps me out when I go into the fields to tend to my cattle. He’s loved by the entire village. It’s amazing he found the baby,” he added.

Amazing job indeed!

As for the teenage mother who abandoned her newborn, she has been discovered to be only 15 years old. She confessed to burying her baby boy because she was trying to hide her pregnancy and was afraid of the retribution from her dad if he were to find out she was bearing a child.

The teen, who regrets her actions, has since been charged with attempted murder and child abandonment. That said, her family has agreed to raise the baby boy. One police officer was quoted as saying,

“The girl is now in the care of a psychologist and her parents because she is in great fear. She regrets what she did and said she acted on impulse without thinking it through. She feared her parents would find out she had been pregnant.”

We’re so proud of Ping Pong for rescuing the baby boy and saving his life! This is why doggos deserve all the love in the world. <3
