The real-life Martha from the trending Netflix series, Baby Reindeer wanted to set the record straight, and she sought the space of Pierce Morgan’s talk show to reveal what she really thinks of the Netflix series.
Not only it’s a gross intrusion of her private life but Fiona, the person who inspired the creation of “Martha” called Baby Reindeer “a complete nonsense”, and clarified that she is NOT a stalker.
Let’s just say, the only accurate part of the show is the title itself.
“I had a toy reindeer and he’d shaved his head, that bit is true, and there were reindeers in the shops because it was Christmas. It was a joke, so I’ve inadvertently penned the name of the show.”
So, to those of you who thought the show was about a literal Baby Reindeer, you are in for a shock. Now, what’s not true about the show?
- Gadd asked to sleep with Fiona
Richard Gadd, the creator of the show and the real-life “Donny Dunn” was said to be the one asking Fiona “if she would like her curtain fixed.”
Fiona said she laughed and brushed him off, telling Gadd,
“He asked me to follow him home. I don’t fancy boys without jobs. I have a boyfriend.”
Fiona added that she was the one getting stalked and Gadd was making money through false stories on Netflix.
- What e-mail? Okay, maybe a couple of them
In Baby Reindeer, Gadd revealed that Fiona sent him LOADS of e-mails which mostly ended with “sent from my iPhone”, with poorly spelled words. Fiona said that she had NEVER sent out any e-mails to Gadd, saying that he had probably come up with the e-mails himself.
“41,000 e-mails? How much would someone send in a day? A lot.”
Fiona merely scoffed at the claims that she sent 350 hours worth of voicemails, 48 FB messages, and 106 letters.
However, she later clarified that she had probably sent a couple of e-mails, which were merely banter jokes.
- I didn’t go to jail
At the end of Baby Reindeer, Martha is sentenced to prison after stalking Gadd and his family.
Fiona said that part was completely untrue and called it defamatory and career-damaging.
“I’ve not been to jail, I’ve got no injunctions.”
Here’s what else Fiona denied:
- She had never waited for him at the bus stop the entire day
- Gadd had never offered her any beverages at the bar
- She doesn’t sound anything like the actress who played her
Fiona, who said she is currently in a 5-year relationship with another lawyer explained that Gadd has extreme psychiatric problems. She also said that she was willing to take a lie detector test to rebut the show.
