A Chinese temple in Skudai, Johor, has become the first in the world to feature an Artificial Intelligence (AI) version of a Goddess, which can interact with worshippers and answer their questions!
Taking to their Facebook page, the Tian Hou Sheng Mu Temple showcased their first-in-the-world AI Mazu (the sea goddess in Chinese folk religion, Chinese Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism) as a fortune-telling system.

They wrote, “The world’s first AI Mazu interactive fortune-telling system is officially launched! Faith enters a new era of technology. You may have been to many temple fairs, but you have never participated in this kind of God-level experience – the AI Mazu will help you interpret your fortunes.”
“Whether you are seeking career advice, love advice, fortune or direction, AI Mazu is online and ready to answer your questions at any time!”

However, it appears that the AI Goddess was only present at the temple from April 15 (Tuesday) to April 20 (Sunday) for the temple’s celebration of Mazu’s birth.
If you’re curious to see how the AI Goddess interacted with people, you can check out this video by Aimazin, a Malaysian AI technology company that created the AI Goddess.
