Recently, a young girl used the Jalur Gemilang and the respect her dad has for the flag to shield herself from his wrath.
In a video shared on DIDIKTV KPM‘s TikTok account, a dad is seen scolding his daughter while holding a piece of paper and a stick.
The video is captioned, “This kid is lucky to have an army dad” and has been viewed over 1.4 million times.
He appears to be scolding her for doing poorly in her exams and as he moved closer to her, she also kept moving backwards.
When her dad was about to hit her, the little girl quickly took the Jalur Gemilang flag sitting on the TV console and held it in front of her.
The dad immediately dropped the stick and raised his arm in a salute towards the flag.
The little girl knew her dad’s weakness – that he respected the Jalur Gemilang too much to do anything to it and used it to her advantage!

In the comments netizens express their amusement at the video and praised the young girl for her cleverness.
