A massive sinkhole formed in front of a hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, this morning (24 September), leading to evacuations and road closures.
According to a report by Channel News Asia, the sinkhole appeared outside the Vajira Hospital in the Dusit district of Bangkok at about 7:15 AM. Patients of the hospital, as well as residents of the area, were promptly evacuated.

Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt informed the Thai media that the sinkhole was apparently caused by a leak in a tunnel at a construction site for a new MRT station. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far, though it is unclear whether anyone has gone missing or lost their life due to the sinkhole.
Khaosod English reported that the sinkhole is over 30 metres deep and extends to the front of the Samsen Police Station.

Photos and clips of the sinkhole have since been circulating on social media, showcasing just how big the sinkhole is. In many of the images, a pickup truck can be seen just at the edge of the sinkhole, having narrowly escaped falling in.
