Foreigner Ignores Kedah JPJ Officers, Continues Riding Motorbike Against Traffic & Without License

A foreigner was arrested on Monday (2 February) after he was caught riding a motorcycle against traffic, without a valid license and refusing to stop when instructed to do so by Kedah Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officers.

According to a statement shared by the Kedah JPJ, the Motorcycle Enforcement Unit attempted to stop the foreign rider, but he refused to comply.

A foreign rider without a valid license rode against traffic and refused to stop when instructed by Kedah JPJ

Kedah JPJ shared:

“A foreign rider was arrested by the Motorcycle Enforcement Unit during the Foreign Driver Operation (PEWA) in Jitra. The rider was detected to have been riding against traffic and refused to stop even though instructed to by enforcement officers.

“The inspection results found that [he did not have a] valid license, [that he was] riding against the traffic, and [he was] disobeying enforcement officers’ instructions.”

 

The motorcycle was seized

The foreigner was also issued a P22 summons, and his motorcycle was seized.

“Enforcement action has been taken with the issuance of a P22 summons and the seizure of the motorcycle for further investigations. Strict action will continue to be taken against [road users] who disobey traffic laws to ensure public safety,” Kedah JPJ added.
