A viral video recently drew the attention of Malaysians, showing security officers checking the passports of foreign nationals at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.
In the video, a foreign man and a woman were seen going through a security check, with officers carefully inspecting their passports, which the couple claimed were fake.

“Will my fake passport pass the test?”
Upon inspection, the security officers later let them through, allowing them to board the plane. The man later claimed that the passports they were using were actually fake.
“Our fake passports successfully passed,” the man said.
The clip quickly sparked concerns among netizens about the security checks in Malaysian airports.

The Immigration Department is investigating the incident
In response, the Immigration Department (JIM) has launched an investigation into the incident, according to Kosmo!
Its Director-General, Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, said the department is looking into the matter from different angles to verify the authenticity of the circulating information.

Zakaria added that JIM is taking these claims seriously, as they could spark public concern, especially about the country’s border security.
“So far, JIM hasn’t received any official reports about this. We’re tracing the TikTok account that posted the claim, and it’s possible that airline staff seen in the video will also be called in to help with the investigation,” he said.
He also encouraged anyone with more information to come forward and share it with JIM to help with the investigation.
