When it comes to donating blood, there are some of us who have always had it in our bucket list, whilst there are absolute veterans who have donated blood more years than they have been alive!
Recently, a 70-year-old Malaysian was announced to have given blood for the 356th time and his final time.
In a Facebook post by the National Blood Centre, they wrote, “Today is the 356th and last blood donation for Mr Lum Kien Seng with the National Blood Centre.”
“The employees of the National Blood Center are very pleased to celebrate this historic day with him who is turning 70 years old,” they added.
“Lum started donating blood consistently since 1988 and has been an apheresis donor since 2000 until today. To do so, he always pays attention to health to ensure that he is eligible and remains healthy to donate blood.”
The employees of National Blood Centre expressed their highest appreciation and millions of thanks to Lum for his sacrifice in carrying out this social responsibility without expecting anything in return.
“May the final blood donation and this 70th birthday celebration be a beautiful memory for Lum and an inspiration to the younger generation to stay healthy and be BLOOD HEROES until the golden age.”
“Thank you MR LUM KIEN SENG. May you be given good health and always be happy for all the good deeds you have done,” they concluded.
The post has gone viral and plenty of Malaysians took to the comments section to praise Lum for his dedication to donate blood for so many years.
Thank you Mr Lum for your contributions! We hope you remain healthy and in great condition.
