2024 is almost over, which means the year-end holidays are the best time to be close to loved ones with a celebration centred around delicious food. So to celebrate another year in the books, Nobu KL invites guests to gather around their tables this holiday season for their exclusive Festive Omakase! From 20 December to 30 December, this limited-time menu captures the holiday spirit, featuring a vibrant and harmonious mix of flavours emanating from Nobu’s innovative cuisine.

Chef Philip Leong, Executive Chef at Nobu Kuala Lumpur, shared his excitement for the season and the limited-time menu: “This time of year always brings excitement as we prepare to welcome guests with a menu that is as merry as it is unique. The dishes reflect our team’s hard work, dedication, and creativity, and it’s been an incredible journey to craft something that truly celebrates the spirit of Nobu during the end-year season.”

2. Kinmedai Calamansi Honey

Guests can anticipate a delectable selection of carefully curated dishes within this 7-course omakase experience, beginning with the Kinmedai Calamansi Honey course. This starter dish boasts the star ingredient, kinmedai (golden eye snapper), a prized Japanese fish known for its rich, buttery flavour and tender flesh. With a vibrant citrusy calamansi honey dressing mixed in to cut through the fish’s natural oiliness, bottarga – cured fish roe – is then delicately shaved over the kinmedai, then topped off with a touch of Nobu’s signature dry miso, to complete Nobu’s world-famous symphony of flavours.

4. Langoustine Sobagaki

The next dish in this innovative course is the Langoustine Sobagaki, which combines luxury with earthy depth, infused within a warm layer of sobagaki, a smooth Japanese buckwheat dough, invoking richness in the dish. A touch of caviar adds a tasteful amount of saltiness, while the crispy nori shitake senbei provides a crunchy feel, adding layers of umami that elevate the seafood feel of the langoustine.

5. Wagyu Figs Teriyaki

For the bold centrepiece, the Wagyu Figs Teriyaki offers a dining experience all on its own! Featuring succulent A5 wagyu that is seared to perfection, the meat is paired with teriyaki reduction sauce infused with figs, balancing caramelised richness and fruity undertones. The dish is topped off with a burnt cauliflower purée with its smoky, earthy notes, contrasting the tender wagyu and emphasising its overall warmth and decadence.

7. Cherry White

The big finisher for this 7-course experience is the Cherry White, an indulgent dessert that makes a spectacle of an entrance with a cloche that is lifted to release a swirl of smoke, heightening anticipation. The cherry compote adds a rich tart-y texture, while a silky white chocolate mousse infuses creamy sweetness, making for a decadent treat to conclude the culinary experience.

For a limited time only, come one, come all to indulge in the Festive Omakase, a testament to the best of Nobu KL’s innovative approach to fine dining! Through this year-end menu, Nobu KL invites you to celebrate the highest in flavour, artistry and the joy of togetherness.

To give back to the local community, Nobu KL will be collaborating with Yayasan Chow Kit, to carry out an exclusive Sushi Workshop and Green Tea Making activity in December. Plus, throughout December, 100% of proceeds from Nobu KL’s Green Tea sales will be donated to Yayasan Chow Kit, extending the year-end holiday spirit to those in need!

So what are you waiting for? Come down to Nobu KL to level up your year-end celebrations where every bite of sushi, or sip of green tea, brings you closer to the many joys of the season!
