Last year, Michelle Yeoh made Malaysians (and fans around the world) proud after winning the Best Actress category at the Oscars for her role in Everything, Everywhere, All at Once. She is the 1st Chinese-American to win an Oscar.
Her major success, however, did not stop there. Just recently, it was reported that Michelle Yeoh has been nominated as a member of the International Olympic Committee, along with 7 other people. The announcement was made yesterday (September 8), according to Sohu.
The 61-year-old Michelle Yeoh won multiple awards and won the Oscar for Best Actress in 2023 for her acting skills in EEAAO.
It is reported that the International Olympic Committee currently has 99 members, including royal family members, sports officials, former athletes, politicians, and business leaders. The main responsibility of the Olympic Committee is to confirm the pre-selected hosting rights of the Summer Olympic Games and the Winter Olympic Games by the IOC Executive Department and the Operational Committee.
At the time of writing (September 9), Michelle has yet to break the silence about her nomination for the International Olympic Committee. Not long ago, Michelle revealed that she was back in Ipoh and had been strolling around the town for local food with her family.
Regardless, congratulations to Michelle for her nomination! We can’t wait to see what fate has in store for her success.
