An elderly woman sustained injuries after being attacked by a group of monkeys at Dataran Kedamaian Taman Tasik Taiping in Perak, this morning (June 19).
According to a report by Astro Awani, the incident took place when the woman was said to be doing leisurely activities in the area with her friends. So far, no police report has been made about the incident.
A Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) spokesperson shared that they have been informed of the monkey attack and that the complaint has been extended to the Department of Wildlife Protection and National Parks (Perhilitan) for further action.
In the meantime, the Director of Perhilitan Perak, Yusoff Shariff said that he has sent staff members to the scene of the incident to monitor the situation.
“We will install traps and will carry out disposal operations, especially on monkeys that are believed to have attacked the victim,” he added.
