Recently, the Head of Information for the Melaka PAS Muslim Council, Yaakub Hawa, shared how Malaysians are starving to death due to the lack of local rice during the administration of the Madani government. This comes after a father and his disabled child were found to have starved to death in Muar, Johor.

She wrote, “During MCO, local rice was available and nobody died of hunger. In the Madani era, local rice has disappeared and people are dying of hunger.”

Unhappy with her statement, Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli told her that she is free to send him a list of those who are starving to death so that he can assist.

“If you have a list of Malaysians who need immediate assistance so as to not die from hunger, Yaakub Hawa can send it to me. My email address is listed on the Ministry of Economy website. This PAS activist’s message is that the people are starving to death because there is no rice,” he wrote.

Additionally, he shared his belief that her statement was either an exaggeration or lacked intelligence, and even got netizens to vote on which it was by either choosing to like his post or retweet it.

“While efforts to end poverty continues, which are better than PN’s efforts, making accusations that the people are dying of hunger because there is no rice is either (1) too extreme, or (2) less intelligent,”

“Retweet this for (1) – too extreme, Like (this post) for (2) – less intelligent,” he added.
