Months after the feud with Teresa Kok, Dr. Akmal Saleh now has something to say to Transport Minister Anthony Loke who recently said he had no time to quarrel with the former.
In a recent podcast, Anthony said he decided not to respond to Akmal’s criticism simply because the latter is not at the same level as Anthony, who is the cabinet minister and the key leader in DAP as compared to Akmal, whom Anthony said is merely a Youth Chief.
“I’m the general-secretary. He’s a Youth Chief and not the decision maker, not the main leader of the party, not the cabinet member. If I’m responding, it means I’m elevating his level.”
Anthony continued and explained,
“If we must respond to him, someone else can do it. Our DAP Youth can do so. If I have respond to all comments made by 2nd or 3rd level ministers, I won’t have time for other things. I have more important things to do.”
Anthony also clarified that he has never been afraid of Akmal, and said there is nothing to be afraid of.
“If you choose to handle the matters with quarrels, the public will see how unprofessional you are.”
“Yes, I may not be on your level but I voice out”
Last night (November 20), the UMNO Youth Chief responded via a Facebook post and acknowledged his “level” as compared to Anthony.
However, he has a reminder for the Minister of Transport.
“Yes, you have a higher position but don’t ever think you can do as you please. As low level as I am, I voice out for the people to protect the country, and I will continue to do so regardless of how high your position is!”
At the end of Akmal’s post, he told Anthony not to be arrogant.
“You got yourself a high position but you’re already arrogant!”
Earlier, Dr. Akmal criticized Anthony Loke who defended brewery funds in schools, in which Anthony said the practice has been ongoing for many years.
