It’s getting closer and closer to Melaka’s polling day and of course, this means more politicians are mulling around the area and visiting parts of the state.
One of them is none other than the sixth prime minister, Najib Razak.
Recently, a video of him and his entourage has been seen circulating on multiple social media platforms. Most of the posts would have the same caption whereby they alleged that the restaurant in the video had closed the moment they saw the ex-prime minister and his entourage. Here’s the video:
Even though the video might be convincing, it seems that this was taken out of context as it shows only the beginning of the whole visit.
In an explanation video, the owner of the restaurant has said that the allegations of her closing shop when seeing ‘bossku’ is untrue.
“That is extreme slander and can bring down the reputation of my restaurant.”
She then gave more context on the situation by saying that at that time, it was high tides and so the tables that were under the trees needed to be kept back into the store. So on Sunday (7 Nov), they opened up the restaurant at 8am and placed some tables inside for the public.
“Boosku arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled so we were running around as we had no time to clean up everything. We then kept the tables to sweep the floor. After we swept the floor, we arranged the tables again.”

Najib Razak then commented under the video and said: “It’s okay. I’m already used to being slandered. In politics, there are all kinds of things. Thank you for your explanation. Also, thank you for the hospitality and the delicious meal.”
Well, this has certainly cleared up many things! What is your opinion on this? Let us know in the comments.
