Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) issued a total of 82 notices in a license inspection operation which was carried out at Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
The operation, which was targeted at premise owners in the mall was carried out by DBKL through the Department of Licensing and Business Development (JPPP) together with the Enforcement Department (JPK). A total of 521 premises were inspected, as revealed on DBKL’s TikTok post @friendsofdbkl.
All 82 notices of the offence were issued through provisions under UUK 20 (1) (b), Business and Industrial Trade Bylaws (WPKL) 2016.
“These offenses fall under hiring any foreigner without a valid work permit, and UUK 23 ( 5) (b) Food Settlement Bylaws (WPKL) 2016 for no typhoid injections,” a DBKL officer explained.
In 2024, JPPP and JPK carried out license inspection operations at 4 shopping malls namely LaLaport, MyTOWN, KL East Mall, and The Exchange TRX.
“This operation aims to check the license of premises and ensure they comply with the conditions that have been set in the license.”
In the video, the officer also assured Malaysians that these operations would be carried out at any time in shopping malls, and a message was left to all premise owners in the malls.
“You are not excluded from the law.”

We thank DBKL for their actions in cracking down the premises that violate the laws! Where else do you think the DBKL should raid next time?
