For Chinese New Year this 2026, Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia will distribute the most powerful festive blockbuster, “Night King [夜王]” nationwide on 16 February 2026. This masterpiece is directed by Hong Kong Film Award winner, Jack Ng, and crafted by the team behind the historic HKD 100 million box-office hit “A Guilty Conscience”.

Dayo Wong x Sammi Cheng: Fated rivals in a “love-hate bond”

“Dayo God” Dayo Wong and Pop Diva Sammi Cheng join forces for the first time in a CNY blockbuster, playing a pair of bickering exes caught in a web of love and resentment. One is the legendary nightclub manager “Foon” (Dayo Wong), and the other is his bossy ex-wife “Madame V” (Sammi Cheng), a CEO who returns to take over the club. Their onscreen chemistry promises a brilliant “battle of beauty, laughter, and acting” for the Year of the Horse.
A galaxy of stars: The “EJ Girls” of Club EJ make their stunning debut

In addition to the stars, the film features a high-visual cast of stunning hostesses played by Louise Wong, Fish Liew, Renci Yeung, Mandy Tam, Sumling Li, Miko Wong, Hazel Lam, and Tang Lai-ying. These stars will pull out all the stops to recreate the glory days of East Tsim Sha Tsui’s nightclubs, with Tse Kwan-ho, Alan Yeung, Lo Chun-yip, and “ERROR” member Dee Ho joining the fray, celebrating the New Year with Malaysian audiences!
From the courtroom to the nightclub: Director Jack Ng’s “contrasting” new work

Regarding his inspiration, director Jack Ng said the idea originated during a celebratory banquet for “A Guilty Conscience.” He stated, “Compared to the serious courtroom theme, I wanted to film something that makes everyone cheer and feel happy. The prosperity of East Tsim Sha Tsui in the 80s and 90s, and the changes of the era, have a wonderful resonance with today’s society.”
The synopsis

In 2012, the once-glamorous Club EJ suddenly experienced a hostile takeover. Much like the nightclub industry, the glory days are over for the club’s manager, Foon (Dayo Wong), despite having stood tall in East Tsim Sha Tsui for decades. To complicate matters for Foon, the club’s new CEO is none other than his cutthroat ex-wife, Madame V (Sammi Cheng)! Determined to change things up, she leaves Foon and his hostesses with no choice but to transform and modernise to breathe new life into their business. Little do they know, a powerful conglomerate has been pulling the strings all along to shut down Club EJ for good. To save their neon empire, Foon and V must join forces and make an epic last stand with the hostesses against what seems to be inevitable doom.
