Twitter is definitely one of the biggest platforms on the internet where everyone is free to express their opinions. Of course, when you share opinions on a public platform, you can expect a wide variety of responses. That’s what happened to Dato’ Sheila Majid when she went candid with her thoughts recently!
Yesterday (5th December), the high-profile singer took to Twitter to vent her frustration with the rising cost of living and lack of jobs in Malaysia.
She also pointed out that Malaysians were frustrated with these issues, on top of debts and other problems. Her statement caught a lot of attention on the social media platform, with over 14,000 retweets and 8,300 likes as of Wednesday morning (6th December).
Naturally, Dato’ Sheila Majid’s feelings were met with a variety of responses from Malaysian Twitter users, who shared their own opinions and turned the replies section under her tweet into somewhat of a mini-forum. Some users agreed with the singer’s sentiments and praised her for voicing out her thoughts.
However, a good number of netizens also disagreed with what the singer had to say, and brought up the fact that other countries are far worse in comparison, among other things.
Whatever it is, she’s certainly got a lot of Malaysians thinking about where they stand when it comes to these issues. It’s good that many people are discussing these matters so that better solutions can possibly emerge in the future!
